Are there any concessions?
Concessions for Leeds City Council (LCC) courses
At Groundwork Yorkshire, courses run through Leeds City Council Adult Community Learning offer concessions/discounts on fees for those who are:
- Undertaking a course in essential digital skills or family learning (free courses)
- Retired and in receipt of state pension (reduced rate)
- On a low income or income related benefits with evidence (fee exempt)
- An individual who is working full time and earns less than £25,000 annual gross salary. Where learners do not work full time, their hourly rate of pay must be less than £13.05 per hour.
- In receipt of the following income-based benefits with evidence
- Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Universal Credit
- Council Tax Support
- Pension Credit
- Carers Allowance
- Other income-based benefits, please check if unsure
Courses funded through Leeds City Council Adult Community Learning require participants to be 19+, with places for West Yorkshire residents. Priority will be given to residents in the Leeds area. Any private courses run by Groundwork Learning Centre will offer no concessions.

What about Winter weather?
In the event of unsafe driving/walking conditions, we will announce on Facebook (Groundwork Yorkshire) and on our website (www.groundworklearningcentre.com) if we will be closed. Any sessions missed will be made up at the end of the course.
If you prefer, you can call 07730 765564 and they will advise if we are open. Individual learners will not be contacted.

Our courses are normally run over 10-weeks during the following terms:

Summer Term
Our workshops are normally one-off classes during the following times:
Christmas/ Winter Holidays
Easter/ Spring Holidays
Summer Holidays
Can I get a refund?
Courses may need minimum numbers to run, if courses are cancelled then refunds for fees will be made in full or pro-rata to learners according to how many sessions have happened.
No refunds will be given once the course has started unless in exceptional circumstances (please ask for details).
How do I get there ?
Groundwork Learning Centre is based at Groundwork, Merlyn-Rees Avenue, Morley, Leeds, LS27 9SL.
Parking is available after 5.30pm in the Groundwork private car park. Before 5.30pm there are free council car parks in the local area. There are Blue Badge parking spaces at the front of the building.
Getting here: We are a short 5 minute walk from Morley Town Hall. Morley is easily reached by bus from Leeds, South Leeds and the Wakefield areas. The train station is approximately a twenty minute walk away.
How's the accessibility?
All courses take place at Groundwork Learning Centre in our first floor classrooms (except for the woodworking courses on the ground floor). There is limited accessibility to our first floor classrooms (22 steps with platform area after 12 steps). Please ask for more details before booking.
How do I access the building?
Access to the building is by pressing the call button at the right hand side of the front door, someone will then buzz you in. Signing in and out of the building is essential and is just inside the front door.
